our big day!

Here are some of my favorite pictures of our wedding day, but you can see very many more on my flickr. It was such a perfect, laid back day, & everything we wanted it to be. It was just simple, fun, and happy :] Here are some fun facts:
  • Our photographers were the BEST. We couldn't have picked anyone cooler.
  • After our rehearsal dinner picnic, the bridesmaids & I made our own bouquets with some real & some silk flowers.
  • Ashley, my maid of honor, did a reading from The History of Love. My favorite book ever.
  • My mom's best friend from high school, Norma, married us.
  • My dad made a box to include in our ceremony. Burton & I wrote love letters to each other to put in it, plus a bottle of beer & wine, to be opened on our 10th anniversary. We also threw in the reception speeches & Burton's boutonniere.
  • 4Rivers catered their fantastic BBQ. When I first had their pulled pork sandwich a few years ago I exclaimed, "They'll cater my wedding!" & they did :]
  • Our friends in Pickens Ivey provided the lovely twangy music at our reception :]
  • Our first dance was "This Guy's In Love With You" by Herb Alpert.
  • I danced to "Harvest Moon" by Neil Young with my dad.
  • Burton danced to "In My Life" by The Beatles with his mama.
  • Ashley & I made all of the desserts at the wedding, including the cake, mini pumpkin & pecan pies, and caramel dipped apples.
  • Burton made all of the beer :]
  • Isaac, the best man, made us cornhole boards for the reception.
  • There was also a photobooth.
  • Then we went on the most amazing honeymoon ever, in Costa Rica. Details on that are coming soon, I promise :]

three more weeks!

Life has been wonderfully busy! Burton & I spent three nights in St. Pete last weekend, hanging out with his science teacher friends. We played beach volleyball, went kayaking, dissected a shark. You know, the usual. We also celebrated Rebecca & DJ's beautiful wedding & in a few hours we'll be leaving to go to Amy & Matt's wedding. Whew! With all this stuff going on, our wedding date has been kind of creeping up on us & now we're only 3 weeks away! 21 days, wow. I guess I'd better go be productive now, huh? ;] Have a lovely weekend!

John & Brittany's wedding

This past weekend, Burton & I celebrated the wedding of our friends John & Brittany and we had a wonderful time with our friends :] The wedding was held on a beautiful farm, the weather was perfect, Burton nailed his best man speech, & we even caught the garter & bouquet! I guess that means we're next to be married ;] I just LOVE weddings & I can't wait for the next two in our Marriage Marathon. I'm lookin' at you Rebecca & DJ, and Amy & Matt!

busy bumblebees

How's about an Instagram dump from my life, as of late? Sorry I have been so absent in the blogosphere, but Burton & I have been busy bees. Aside from work, planning our wedding, and celebrating birthdays, we have also been active participants in the 2012 Marriage Marathon. We're in the midst of a solid two-month span that is filled with bachelor and bachelorette parties, family visits, and THREE weddings to attend (two of which Burton & I are in the bridal parties)! Phew! Then it will finally be our turn to tie the knot, and then RELAX on our honeymoon :] Can't wait! 38 more daayyysss!
